Students Working Against Trafficking (SWAT)

Founded in at the University of St. Thomas (Houston) in 2009, SWAT and the Social Justice Committee recently sponsored a successful jewelry sale. Their mission is simple:

The Students Working for the Abolition of Trafficking of the University of St. Thomas exist to raise awareness about human trafficking to move towards eradicating modern day slavery in Houston. Through films, panels, lectures, and other events we hope to create an understanding of why this is such a prominent business. Our goal is to create an abolitionist movement on our campus and in our community.

jeans&beans Web Design

jeans&beans owner Edee Lemonier is passionate about creating beautiful websites at affordable prices for sole proprietors and micro business owners. When she’s not designing and developing, she is a writer who is equally passionate about seeing the end of child sexual abuse, sexual assault, rape, and sex trafficking. Edee is also a contributing author for The New Agenda, a national organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls. Most of her pieces focus on sex crimes, and are meant to bring awareness and change. She wants to see Jané selling jewelry, and speaking out and bringing awareness around the country instead of worrying about The Butterfly Project’s website. Edee is proud and honored to donate her time and services to create another way for you to support girls and young women rescued from the sex trafficking industry.
