Beyond the Shadows

Will host an event to shed light on human trafficking in the Houston area at the University of Houston on Wednesday, November 6 from 6-9pm. The evening begins with a screening of Slavery Out of the Shadows: Spotlight on Human Trafficking  followed by a panel discussion led by notable representatives from Houston-area anti-trafficking organizations and law enforcement agencies, including Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia.

The film, produced by the Texas Young Lawyers Association, underscores the size and scope of modern day slavery in the greater Houston area, a major hub for human trafficking in the United States.

The Butterfly Project will have tables set up in the marketplace of fair trade businesses and anti-trafficking organizations throughout the event.
