National Human Trafficking Awareness Month

January is National Human Trafficking Awareness month. It is only fitting that The Butterfly Project  launches its website on National Human Trafficking Awareness day!

We will be updating this site regularly to give you information and statistics on the sex trafficking industry, the latest news in the fight against it, and success stories. Please check in often to see what’s going on in the world. Better yet, sign up to automatically receive updates through your email!

In June of 2008 the FBI launched its Innocence Lost National Initiative.  In only three and a half years, they have recovered over 1600 children and secured over 700 convictions. That’s only in the United States! According to UNICEF, 1.2 million children are forced into the sex trafficking industry every year, and the industry is worth $9.5 billion per year!

There are many wonderful organizations dedicated to preventing sex trafficking and rescuing those who have already fallen victim to it. The Butterfly Project is devoted to helping aid in the healing process of those victims whose lives have been irrevocably changed.

By purchasing this beautiful jewelry, you are restoring hope to exploited women and children all over the world.
